Second Life screenies
Was playing with Second Life a couple weeks ago, and got a new Luskwood avatar from one of the vending machines.

screens taken at the sony ericsson simCollapse )

This particular AV is rather awesome because the scripts are editable, which I haven't seen in some of the other avatars that I've interacted with. Unfortunately, some of the interactivity breaks in corporate servers, since that incident with Anshe Chung and the flying stuff that caused most of the hardcore serious places to disable external scripting. Luckily, though, I can probably customize the AV to use an attachment system to do most of what's now missing, so I'll be able to emulate its full functionality in those situations.

If you go on http://www.sun.com/ and read the new article about their T2 style server CPU, then watch the seminar, I was at the second life side of it. You can see my avatar in the front row on the far right side of the screen at 0h:0min:20sec of the fifth part of the presentation, until about 00:00:34.

The Hero
"Here am I!" shouts the Hero to the people!

"I am Here!" she cries, from the rooftops.

Does anyone look up to see?

Does anyone's ears perk up to hear?

I'm working on a new project; a series of super short punchy fable-like stories, so I'll be away for a bit. Do say hello on IM if you see me there, though!

Happy father's day, everyone!

TouristTrophy is neat
I just got the most recent game from Polyphony Digital--TouristTrophy, or "++" as it refers to itself. It's a racing game where you drive motorcycles, in the style of Gran Turismo. The game is scary compared to GT, if you mess up it generally looks like your guy died. It had a neat photo mode--here are some of my first non death-inducing lap at the beginner track, well suited for wallpaper:

If anyone would like to test-play my new visual novel demo, i'd be glad to share it.

I'm studying ren'py and put it together yesterday evening and this morning. It's a prequel to an unpublished short story that might turn into another visual novel

(The link might work for a few weeks, or might break sooner; I'm not sure how these websites are.)

windows media center extender x-360
So, like, my Windows Vista Home Premium install is doing ok--but WMCE on xbox 360 is kind of weak compared to the PC version. The framerates are kind of low, and it took a long time to open on my machine. ;\

It would probably be neat, though, if I had a digital tuner in my computer. Or if I liked to look at my photos on the TV. *sigh*
